SPA

The sensorial SPA (Sperm Propagating Apparatus) is a project by Anguille Vannamei that imagines water as the currency of love. The majority of aquatic creatures use water as a medium for external fertilization, and even land animals rely on their bodily fluids to transfer intimacy. Humans are not exceptional: our genitals become wet when they’re being used, and a human embryo can only grow in water. However, situated in the global capitalist system, some fluids appear to have more commercial value than others. We would like to interrogate the hierarchization of waters by the means of an interactive sensorial exhibition that demonstrates how economic systems operate through the mediated mixing of reproductive fluids.
