LARP

Excerpt from workshop outline by Anguille Vannamei:

“The workshop “LARPing diagrams” facilitates collective speculations through diagrams that represent alienated and objectified bodies, labor, and knowledge. Concepts such as reproductive labor (more-than-human), care work, and love are often diminished to passive resources in traditional economic flowcharts. We propose this diagramming workshop as an alternative form of communication that liberates the agency of these bodies and their non-extractable work.

Consequently, the workshop presents a methodology that transforms the diagramming body's perspective from a distant observer with normative intentions to performative agents enriched by their lived experiences.

The workshop will communicate the notion of the diagram as an abstract machine dynamically, as it incorporates strategies from a role-play game genre known as LARP (Live Action Role Play), where participants embody their characters. The static representations of bodies in graphical diagrams are thus transformed into a complex map of fluctuating relationships between agents and their forces.”
